Prior to joining Shepherd Kaplan, Heath was a partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, LLP, one of the largest law firms in the United States, where he regularly advised Fortune 500 companies and other plan sponsors regarding day-to-day and corporate event-related employee benefit issues. Heath’s primary area of focus includedthe tax and fiduciary issues associated with qualified retirement plans, including 401(k) plans and other types of defined contribution plans, as well as traditional defined benefits plans and cash balance plans. Heath received his L.L.M. in taxation and a certificate in employee benefits law from Georgetown University Law Center in 1998, his J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 1997, and his B.S. in business administration from Illinois State University in 1993. Heath is admitted to practice in Texas and before the U.S. Tax Court.
